With the leadership and guidance of the Ministry of Labour and Foreign Employment , National Productivity Secretariat (NPS) has taken action to develop “National Productivity Master Plan for Sri Lanka” in collaboration with Asian Productivity Organization (APO) and Korea Development Institute (KDI). After conducting two virtual meetings, delegation of APO & KDI visited to Sri Lanka to conduct meetings with the stakeholders of Apparel, Food Processing, Fisheries and Tourism sectors, which contribute high economic value to the country.
 
An inauguration session was held on 26th March 2024 at the auditorium of NPS and After that, delegation met Mr. R. P. A. Wimalaweera , Secretary of Ministry of Labour and Foreign Employment in order to discuss the matters related to labour productivity and foreign employment.
 
The special meetings were arranged with the delegates and Secretaries & other officials for Ministry of Fisheries, Ministry of Industries, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Tourism and Lands, and Department of Manpower and Employment. The officials of the institutions coming under the purview of above said ministries also attended and the policies, current situation and future plans were highlighted throughout the discussions.
 
For this occasions, Mrs. K. D. R. Olga – Additional Secretary of Ministry of Labour and Foreign Employment, Mr. Niranja S. Jayakodi – Director of NPS, Ms. Lasitha Dewage – Deputy Director of NPS and Productivity Development Officers of NPS, participated and the event was coordinated and organized by the Planning Unit of NPS.
